OB/GYN Hospitalist

Novant Health is seeking a BC/BE OB/GYN Hospitalist to join our highly experienced women's services team in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an OB/GYN physician seeking a sustainable hospitalist schedule, strong clinical support, competitive compensation, and the ability to practice meaningful inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care within a collaborative, physician-led health system.

Position highlights include:

• A highly desirable schedule of just seven 24-hour in-house shifts per month, offering exceptional work-life balance while maintaining meaningful clinical impact.
• A full-time, employed position with a total compensation package exceeding $200/hour starting at $160/hr base plus comprehensive benefits including, 401K match, tail coverage, malpractice, CME allowance, and relocation support.
• Additional earning opportunities may include extra shifts, emergency coverage, holiday premium pay, surgery assist compensation, and shift coverage at additional regional medical centers. A partner-provider 12-hour daytime shift model may also be available.

Clinical role:

• Labor and delivery coverage
• OB triage
• Emergency department consults
• Delivery backup
• First assist for C-sections
• Support for obstetric and gynecologic emergencies
• Inpatient consultative services

Community OB/GYN providers cover advanced gynecologic surgery and serve as backup support, allowing hospitalists to focus on core inpatient OB/GYN hospitalist responsibilities.

The Winston-Salem-area OB Hospitalist team averages approximately three service deliveries monthly and 244 encounters monthly, creating a manageable clinical environment with meaningful patient impact and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.

Practice environment:

• Level IV NICU
• 24/7 anesthesia coverage
• Maternal-Fetal Medicine support
• Gyn/Onc, Urology, and Interventional Radiology support
• Epic EMR
• Community OB/GYN backup
• Advanced gynecologic surgery coverage by community providers
