About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: PM Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience; IMCU experience is a plus, but not required License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: 3+ years of experience Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional responsible for coordinating patient care delivery by the healthcare team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses patients and identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems. The RN develops and implements an individualized plan of care and evaluates the patient's response. Promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment. The RN assists patients in transitioning through the healthcare encounter without preventable complications or delays. Delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on each patient's condition and the competencies of staff. The RN is utilized in inpatient and outpatient departments with continuous staffing needs. Essential Functions: Conducts accurate clinical assessments and prioritizes patient and family needs. Develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing plan of care and modifies plans as necessary. Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and participates in quality improvement initiatives. Creates a compassionate, supportive, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families. Develops therapeutic relationships with patients and families while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Recognizes and incorporates unique differences of patients and families into individualized care plans. Preserves and protects patient confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights. Facilitates learning for patients, families, nursing staff, and the healthcare team. Collaborates with colleagues to develop and implement an integrated plan of care. Utilizes problem-solving strategies and considers resource limitations in patient care planning. Participates in shared governance and decision-making processes to improve nursing practice. Recognizes the contributions of others and commits to ongoing professional growth and community service. Key Success Factors: Knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures. Understanding of laws, rules, and regulations governing provision of nursing care. Familiarity with medical terminology and principles of health promotion and disease prevention. Knowledge of medical ethics and patient privacy rights. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills for effective interaction with diverse groups. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to observe changes in patient conditions and effectively communicate these changes. Capacity to provide age-specific, patient-centered care and modify care plans accordingly. General computer skills, including electronic medical documentation and communication tools.
