Early Childhood Aide Responsibilities:

The aide shall assist the classroom teacher to prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.

The aide will assist the classroom teacher plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.  The aide will assist the classroom teacher prepare students for meaningful lives by contributing to their educational and social development.

Early Childhood Aide Job Duties include but are not limited to:

• Integrate Biblical principles and perspectives throughout all curriculums from a Biblical worldview
• Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and in agreement with school policy
• Assist the teacher encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
• Use acceptable English in written and oral communication; speak with clear articulation
• Demonstrate proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs
• Demonstrate excellent organization and time management skills
• Assist the teacher plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and assessments that are in accordance with established procedures
• Assist the teacher instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Assist the teacher provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
• Assist the teacher observe and evaluate students’ performance and development
• Assist the teacher assign and grade classwork, homework, and assessments
• Assist the teacher maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development
• Assist the teacher manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Assist the teacher work with administration to keep parents informed of students’ discipline
• Assist the teacher maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
• Assist the teacher maintain clear, open and professional communication with parents
• Assist the teacher to provide appropriate feedback to students and parents on student progress
• Ability to employ computer programs to post grades and communicate with parent
• Participate in department, school, and parent meetings

Basic Requirements:

• Be a born-again Christian who is called of God to the teaching ministry
• College graduate, preferably with two or more years of classroom teaching experience
• Knowledge of computer technology
• Willingness to pursue higher education and continue progress in career development
