If you're looking to make a difference with your technical knowledge and excellent customer service, then we want to hear from you!WinnCompanies is searching for a Carpenter to join our team supporting multiple properties totaling around 2,400 units through the Chicago, IL area.In this role, you will be responsible for installing cabinets, counter-tops, doors and the like in vacant and occupied units. The pay for this role is $45.61 per hour. The selected candidate will adhere to the following schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.Responsibilities:Perform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.Carefully study blueprints and sketches.Execute measuring activities with detail, able to obtain square footage.Cut, shape, and smooth the needed material.Repair stairways, doors and window frames, partitions, and rafters.Assemble and install, kitchen cabinets, siding and drywall.Install items where designated.Conduct repairs and maintenance.Layout floorings, VCT and ceramic, ensuring they are leveled and compatible.Knowledge of painting and patching and tools.Responsible for maintaining an accurate daily timekeeping record via our timekeeping system.Perform other related duties as assigned.Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent.Previous working experience as a carpenter.In-depth knowledge of different carpentry materials and techniques.Hands on experience with appropriate electrical tools.Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.OSHA 10 & 30 safety certifications.OSHA 10-hour & OSHA-30 construction is required.General Contractor License.Scaffold User / Erector / Competent Person Aerial Lift Certification.A current vehicle license in good standing and meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.Possess needed tools for all jobs and be willing to purchase your own toolsExcellent customer service skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.Ability to speak and understand basic English.Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.Preferred Qualifications:Vocational or technical training.Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).Proof of trade experience.NCCER Core Construction Skills Scaffold User / Competent Person Certification.Aerial Lift Certification.Fall Protection Certification.Concrete Formwork Certification.Finish Carpentry Certification.Drywall / Framing Certifications.Historic Restoration Training.CAMT certifications.Our Benefits:Regular full-time US employees are eligible to participate in the following benefits:Generous time off policies (including 11 paid holidays (12 for MA employees); Generous Accrued Time Off increasing with years of service; Generous paid sick time; Annual day of service; Floating Holiday)401(k) plan options with a company matchVarious Comprehensive Medical, Dental, & Vision plan optionsFlexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account options with HSA annual employer contributionLong Term Disability and voluntary Short Term Disability; Basic Term Life Insurance and AD&D optional supplemental life insuranceHealth Expense Reimbursement program (including gym memberships, equipment, and subscriptions)Tuition Reimbursement program and continuous training and development opportunitiesWellbeing program (group challenges, seminars, opportunities to earn points to reduce medical premiums), Employee Assistance Program, & Commuter and Parking Reimbursement optionsEmployee Corporate Discount ProgramsFlexible and/or Hybrid schedules are available for certain rolesEmployee Relief Program supporting employees with unexpected hardships that place undue financial stress on them and their familiesTo learn more, visit winnbenefits.comWhy WinnCompanies?A job you can be proud of: WinnCompanies is a nationally recognized leader in apartment community management and development.
