Primary responsibilities include:Assist in determining the suitability of donors.Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.Monitors donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.Sets up, disconnects, and operates the automated plasmapheresis machines.Disconnects and disposes of all contaminated disposable equipment.Occupational demands include working in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32 degrees F. Personal protective equipment required includes protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear. Work is performed standing for 6 to 8 hours per day, with bending and twisting neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day. Frequent hand and foot movement, light lifting of 15lbs. with a maximum lift of 50lbs. Hearing acuity essential. Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions to complete assigned tasks.The estimated pay scale for the Phlebotomist role based in Bakersfield, CA, is $18.81-$19.00 per hour. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 4% of the company bonus pool.
