Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Asheville, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Progressive Care Unit Nurse specializing in the Asheville, North Carolina area. This role involves providing patient care on a 44-bed unit that handles neuro and spinal checks, chest tube management, IV infusions, blood transfusions, and other procedures. The position requires flexibility to work nights and supports a team-focused, patient-centered approach. Job Details: Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week Required Qualifications: Certifications include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Education and experience requirements include a minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience. Location requirement is within the United States, specifically North Carolina. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with neuro and trauma care experience are considered advantageous. Float: Float rotation may be required to stepdown units and medical-surgical units. Additional Information: The unit maintains a staffing grid with RN, CNA, and charge staff. Typical equipment includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, chest tubes, Trachs, and patient lifts. The unit operates under Cerner electronic medical records and adheres to established policies and guidelines. Staffing includes every other weekend shifts, with some on-call requirements.
