Assist Senior Engineer in developing Electrical Engineering projects utilizing new technology to constantly upgrade and improve site safety, efficiencies, cost controls, quality controls and protection of the environment.Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projectsManage small to medium site construction, expansion or modification projects, and assists the Senior Engineer on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion or modificationsAdminister contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipmentDevelop working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations appropriate to area of assignmentAssist the Senior Engineer in contributing to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areasDevelop and evaluate AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requestsMay represent the site on company sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teamsPerform other duties as requiredWhat You Bring To FreeportBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering, ORMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and two (2) years of related experience in EngineeringKnowledge of the principles and practices of Electrical Engineering with an understanding of Mechanical and Process Engineering techniquesAbility to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusionsAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingFamiliarity and some experience in Electronics, PLCs, and Control SystemsSkill in managing small to medium Engineering projectsAbility to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvementPreferred QualificationsAdvanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) CertificationExperience with or classes related to Power Systems EngineeringExperience with Power System Modeling software such as SKM, eTAP, etc.Familiarity with industrial AC and DC motors, VFD’s and plant instrumentationFamiliarity with powerline layout, engineering and constructionFamiliarity with MV power systemsLeadership and construction / mining experienceKnowledge and understanding of NEC & NFPA70E RegulationsFamiliarity with designing Power, Instrumentation and Controls SystemsExperience with ETAP and AutoCAD or similar software for designSelf-motivated with excellent work ethicProficiency in MS OfficeUnderstanding of project life cycleExperience in reading electrical drawing and P&IdWhat We Offer YouThe estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $93,000-$127,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
