Advanced Practice Provider: Burn Center Location: Akron, Ohio Posted: 12-Jun-26 Join our team at the Adult and Pediatric Burn Institute at Akron Children's Hospital. We are looking for compassionate and skilled APPs to provide care across inpatient, outpatient, and surgical services. Job Description Under the supervision of a physician, the PA‑C provides medical care, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education for complex acute, chronic, and critical health conditions. Work is performed in a variety of clinical settings, ensuring quality patient care and compliance with Ohio law and hospital policy. Responsibilities Inpatient Provide medical care to patients with complex, acute, critical, and chronic conditions. Practice with neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations. Participate in quality monitoring through bi‑annual performance evaluations (FPPE & OPPE). Outpatient Emphasize health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions. Identify discharge needs, write prescriptions, communicate with primary care physicians, order tests, and maintain confidentiality. Participate in emergency treatment and triage as needed. Behavioral Indicators Evaluates care daily during rounds and documents assessment, plan, care, teaching, and discharge planning. Completes Bureau of Workers’ Compensation forms and monitors patient safety. Offers expertise to staff, assists with educational material, and updates practice with current research. Maintains membership in American Burn Association and participates in policy and procedure development. Qualifications Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (preferred). Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program. Licensed as a Physician Assistant in Ohio with current NCCPA certification. Active supervision agreement, certificate to prescribe (or CTP eligible), and medical staff privileges. Current BLS training. Excellent critical thinking, self‑motivation, and interpersonal communication skills.
