Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Kearney, NE | Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (18:30–06:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 40-bed PCU serving adult populations with diagnoses including cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post-stent, post-pacer placement, and renal failure
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5; float to MedSurg or ICU (PCU-acuity patients) as needed
• Titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
• Read and interpret telemetry/cardiac monitor strips independently
• Demonstrate competency with arterial lines and high-flow respiratory equipment
• Successfully complete an open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90%

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Competency with arterial lines required
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health are not eligible
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or intermediate care setting
• Experience caring for culturally diverse patient populations
• Strong telemetry interpretation and drip titration skills
• Flexibility, adaptability, and strong team communication skills
