Job Details Job Location: Chenango County - Chenango, NY Salary Range: $155,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year Reports to: Director of Substance Use Disorder Integrated Services Position Goals and Responsibilities Provide direct clinical services to patients, including psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychotherapy, and, when appropriate, medication management, in compliance with regulations set forth by the New York State Department of Health, the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), and the Office of Mental Health (OMH). Clinical responsibilities typically involve evaluating, diagnosing and treating mental health and/or substance use disorders, which may include providing Medication Assisted Treatment. Additional areas of care may include supporting individuals coping with grief, anger, adjustment challenges, and other behavioral health concerns. Conduct diagnostic evaluations through patient history, physical exams, and diagnostic testing. Develop and manage individualized treatment plans, including medication and psychotherapy as needed. Provide care in individual or group settings and coordinate referrals or transfers to appropriate levels of care. Carry out prescribed treatments, administer injections, instruct clients and their families on proper use, dosages and possible side effects of medications taken, and observe the client’s physical and emotional status. Participate as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team in the development of collaborative plans of care that address client needs. Provide health education and monitor client well‑being in coordination with staff, providers, and agencies to support continuity of care. Use the Electronic Medical Record system to prepare and complete all required clinical documentation and treatment authorizations for billing purposes in a timely manner. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and clinic policies. Provide crisis intervention services as needed. Depending on organizational needs, this position may assume additional responsibilities, including supervisory duties or oversight of specific functions. In accordance with Section 424‑a of the New York State Social Services Law, candidates who are actively being considered for employment will be required to complete release form(s) and required documentation that will be submitted to the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment to determine whether or not they have been the subject of an indicated report of child abuse or maltreatment. Qualifications Possession of a current license, DEA license, and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; AND Possession of a current board certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry issued by the New York State Education Department; AND One year of full‑time paid post‑licensure clinical nursing experience or its part‑time equivalent. Experience with and demonstrated strong commitment to drug user health, harm reduction, and interdisciplinary, collaborative team‑based care settings, and trauma‑informed care. Exceptional communication skills for work with patients and in collaboration with colleagues. Special Requirements At time of appointment and continuing throughout employment, must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle, and a driving record acceptable to the County’s insurance carrier. Candidates must maintain active New York State licensure and registration as a Registered Professional Nurse, along with board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry, throughout the duration of employment.
