Water Treatment Operator I, II & III
Pay rate depends on qualifications. We are seeking a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Water Treatment Operator I, II & III. The Town of Cave Creek operates a CAP delivery pipeline, a Surface Water Treatment Plant located at 28235 N Basin Rd in Cave Creek, and a number of wells. The Water Treatment Operator reports to the Water Treatment Supervisor. The primary function of a Water Treatment Operator is to operate the water treatment plant including supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system or manually. Other duties include but are not limited to, conduct minor plant and equipment maintenance, perform laboratory analysis to determine optimum chemical dosages, and general housekeeping. Additionally, the Water Treatment Operator is responsible for keeping log books, lab books, lab reports, daily total reports, inspection reports, backwash logs and updating various databases. The individual selected must be able operate and monitor water treatment plant systems using SCADA computer systems, conduct visual plant inspections, monitor plant operations and processes, have the ability to work with and around treatment chemicals in a safe manner, detect problems to ensure proper operation and make process decisions as deemed appropriate. Additionally, we train new employees in all aspects of the operation and maintenance our treatment plant to ensure the safest workplace possible.

Candidates for a Level I Operator must possess the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-2 years or more of experience in the field of water quality or water operations.
- Must possess and maintain an unrestricted Arizona Driver's license.
- Must obtain an ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification within 6 months of hire.
- Pay range for a Water Treatment Plant Operator I is $26.80 - $40.78.
Candidates for a Level II Operator must possess the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-3 years or more of experience in the field of water quality or water operations.
- Must possess and maintain an unrestricted Arizona Driver's license.
- Must possess an ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification at the time of hire.
- Must obtain an ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification within 12 months of hire.
- Pay range for a Water Treatment Plant Operator II is $28.68- $43.64.
Candidates for a Level III Operator must possess the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2-4 years or more of experience in the field of water quality or water operations.
- Must possess an ADEQ Grade 2 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification at the time of hire.
- Must obtain an ADEQ Grade 3 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification within 12 months of hire.
- Must obtain an ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution certification within 12 months of hire.
- Pay range for a Water Treatment Plant Operator III is $30.69 - $46.69.
The successful candidate must meet the physical standards and requirements for working in confined spaces. Work will require climbing portable ladders and entering confined spaces. Operators work varied shifts requiring the availability to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends on a rotating schedule.
