AVP, Platform Engineering

As an AVP of Data and Cloud Platform Engineeringat UWM,leading Cloud Engineering, Database Administration, and Data Platform Engineering teams,you will be responsible for maintaining and improving ourdata and cloud systems. You will beapproaching projects with automationand self-serviceprinciplesat the forefront to meet client/business needs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our businessand ITprocesses run smoothly and our internal customers remain satisfied.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Help define policies, procedures, and standards for implementing and maintainingplatforms within the organization Push forward the principles of Platform Engineering and Self-service enablement Ensure our data platforms are resilient, performant, highly available, and governed properly Work with internal clients to enhance their experience withour platforms Providing guidance and mentorship to team leaders, architects, and team members Make continuous improvements to ourplatformsandupgradetheircapabilities. Provide regular status reports to stakeholdersand leadershipon tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals Leading teams whowork dayto day with Azure, Google Cloud, MS SQL Server, Redis,and Kafka

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Must Have: 5-7years experienceleading Enterprise Technology and/or Data platform teams Very strong soft skills and the ability to communicate effectively Run large meetings and present topicsduring All-Handsmeetings Understanding of data technologies and governance Leading teams who operate in public cloud platforms Strong security-first mindset Nice to Have: DBA experience Public Cloud engineering and administration experience SOX/SOC2 experience JIRA and Service Now experience
