We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our small to medium sized legal team. In this vital role, you will support attorneys with a focus on personal injury cases. Your expertise will help streamline case management and ensure the accuracy and organization of legal documents and files, in both paper and electronic formats. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high volume litigation while developing your skills in a close knit environment.

** Responsibilities **

• Assist attorneys with all phases of pre-lit and litigation, including but not limited to case inception, case preparation, filing of complaints and other court documents, complete discovery, and trial support.
• Manage and organize case files using document management systems; ensure all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
• Request, record, and pay invoices for all medical records and maintain full and accurate system for documenting and following up on medical records and requests.
• Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, settlement statements, lien letters and general correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
• Contact clients, witnesses, and experts to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases, including communication with state marshals.
• Review and analyze legal documents for relevance and accuracy; assist in preparing medical summaries for attorney review.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, courts, vendors, and internal staff via phone, email, and other professional correspondence.
• Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scheduling depositions or court dates, and managing deadlines to ensure smooth case progression, while adjusting for changing priority level tasks in accordance with attorney requests.

** Qualifications **

• Paralegal certification or equivalent experience in a law office setting; minimum of two years of prior personal injury litigation paralegal experience (in Connecticut).
• Strong familiarity with file directories and legal case management software is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage many cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents with clarity and precision.
• Knowledge of document review processes and data entry procedures within a busy legal environment.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
