5 Days, 8 Hours per Day (4x10's can be accommodated) Job Description The competent nurse, in a perioperative setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing routine and complex care, developing long-range goals, and managing clinical contingencies. Responsibilities Meets expectations of the applicable One CHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments according to protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred. Current BLS certification required (AHA only). Current ACLS certification required (AHA only). Current PALS certification required (AHA only). RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
