Hospice Physician

Job Summary The Care Team, in partnership with Traditions Health, is seeking a Hospice Physician to join our growing Hospice Team in Cuyahoga Falls. Primary function is oversight of physician services and the medical component of the Agency, promoting and maintaining standards of practice consistent with quality hospice care. Responsibilities Oversight of physician services and medical component of the hospice program Promote and maintain standards of practice for quality hospice care Provide palliation and management of patients’ terminal illness and related conditions in conjunction with the attending physician Attend biweekly interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings Provide medical direction, education, and consultation to clinical staff and attending physicians Review patient eligibility and admission/re-certification Participate in patient care planning and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote quality and coordination of care Assist in the development and revision of clinical policies and procedures, QAPI process, and continuing education programs Perform home visits and patient assessments as requested by the IDG Support agency goals, vision, and compliance with fiscal and third-party payors Job Qualifications Graduate of an accredited college/university with a doctorate degree in medicine or doctor of osteopathy Currently licensed to prescribe pharmaceuticals and medical treatments in the state CPR certification per agency policy Knowledgeable about the psychosocial and medical aspects of hospice care Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, staff, governing bodies, interdisciplinary teams, and other physicians Reliable transportation with valid and current auto insurance Able to handle stressful situations calmly and courteously and to work under pressure to meet deadlines and agency needs Salary and Schedule Pay Range: $200-$250 per hour. Schedule: Approximately 10 hours weekly.
