Schedule/Shift

Sunday is 7pm-8am, Monday thru Wednesday is 11pm to 8am; 40 hours per week.

Job Description

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist will perform routine and specialized tests in assigned laboratory sections under limited supervision. This role involves monitoring lab processes, verifying results, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical analyses for routine, special, and automated tests, recognizing and addressing abnormal values.
• Document and interpret quality control results, troubleshooting issues as necessary and consulting with supervisors when needed.
• Verify and post results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and ensure proper documentation.
• Obtain specimens directly from patients and select appropriate equipment for testing.
• Participate in the training of new employees and students.
• Evaluate new testing methods and procedures.
• Act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the supervisor for staff management and problem resolution.

Required Experience

• Six (6) years of experience preferred.
• Up to three (3) years of direct experience required.

Certifications/Licensure

• New York State Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
