Job Title Clinical Research Assistant 3- Ophthalmology Department Medicine | Ophthalmology Responsibilities Participate in data collection, maintenance, and reporting for clinical research studies. Coordinate and perform clinical research activities for assigned studies, including therapeutic studies involving standard of care or FDA‑approved drugs/devices, in accordance with approved protocols. Assist with assessing patient records to identify patients who are eligible to participate in specified clinical research protocols. Recruit, interview, and enroll patients; obtain informed consent and ensure the consent process is administered in compliance with regulatory and sponsor requirements. Educate patients and families about the purpose, goals, and processes of the clinical study. Coordinate scheduling and follow‑through of patient care appointments, procedures, and other diagnostic testing in accordance with the study protocol. Participate in the collection, processing, and evaluation of biological samples. Administer, evaluate, and calculate standardized scoring of diagnostic, psychological, or behavioral testing or questionnaires. Assist with training and onboarding new Clinical Research Assistants 2 and 3 as a preceptor. Minimum Education Required Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences, health sciences, social sciences or medical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Required for Patient‑Interfacing Focused Positions At least one year of experience that includes at least six months of patient‑interfacing experience in a clinical support capacity and at least six months in a clinical research capacity. Proficient computer skills. Successful completion of a background check is required. Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre‑employment physical including a drug screen.
