Jr. Systems Engineer – DedicatedWe are seeking a Jr. Systems Engineer – Dedicated to join our growing Support team in Chicago, IL. This is a hands-on, client-facing technical role focused on providing dedicated onsite IT support within assigned Atlas Technica client environments.The Jr. Systems Engineer will serve as an extension of the Atlas Technica Support team onsite with the client, providing direct user support, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining accurate documentation, and escalating more complex issues to Systems Engineers and Senior Systems Engineers.The successful candidate will bring strong customer service, communication, responsibility, and follow-through along with a developing technical foundation. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career IT professional to gain hands-on exposure to sophisticated client environments while continuing to grow their systems engineering skills.Position Responsibilities:Provide dedicated onsite IT support and technical assistance to client usersManage and resolve support requests through the organization's ticketing systemTroubleshoot end-user issues involving Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and related workplace technologiesSupport Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Entra IDAssist with basic systems administration across Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, identity, access, and endpoint-management technologiesIdentify when technical issues require escalation and collaborate with Systems Engineers, Senior Systems Engineers, and other technical resources through resolutionMaintain accurate ticket notes, technical documentation, procedures, and client-environment informationFollow Atlas Technica and client security standards, documentation expectations, and strict change-control proceduresCommunicate proactively with users and internal technical teams regarding issue status, resolution, and follow-upSupport onsite technology initiatives and travel periodically to other customer office locations within the Chicago metropolitan area as requiredRequirements:1+ year of relevant IT experience in desktop support, service desk, systems administration, systems engineering, or a related technical environmentHands-on end-user and desktop support experience across Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and common workplace technologiesExperience supporting or administering Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, or Microsoft Entra IDFoundational knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related systems-administration conceptsBasic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, wireless networking, and firewallsStrong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approachStrong responsibility, organization, documentation, and follow-through with the ability to take ownership of assigned workAbility to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced support environmentAbility to work onsite within the assigned Chicago client environment and travel periodically to other client locations within the metropolitan areaAbility to perform the physical requirements necessary to support onsite IT operations, including occasionally lifting or carrying equipment up to 50 lbs., sitting or standing for extended periods, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and safely accessing workstations, equipment, and other onsite IT areas as requiredDesirable Qualities:Experience working within a Managed Service Provider or other multi-client support environmentFinancial services experience supporting hedge funds, private equity firms, investment managers, or similar organizationsFamiliarity with financial market applications such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, FactSet, or Capital IQExperience with ConnectWise or similar service-management platformsExposure to endpoint protection solutions such as Sophos or similar technologiesBasic understanding of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-VExperience with collaboration, identity, or device-management technologies such as Google Workspace, Box, Dropbox, Duo, Okta, AirWatch, or similar platformsAtlas Technica is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
