Certifications/Licenses:

• Completion of a state-approved medicine course with a passing grade.
• Completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant program.
• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant with one year of experience in nursing.
• Requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients

Mandatory Experience:

• CNA Experience
• Receives report at the beginning of shift with nurses.
• Reports observations concerning patient condition, emergency situations or difficulties with medications to the supervising nurse;
• Prepares and administers routine and PRN medications as prescribed by the physician;
• Does not administer medication based on verbal order;
• Documents administration of medications per Genesis policies;
• Maintains medication supply and cleans and restocks medicine carts and medicine room as needed.
• Notifies pharmacy of new medication orders and refills.
• Performs accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drugtherapy.
• Maintains current knowledge of medications and investigates/looks up unknown medications before administration;
• Uses Point Click Care according to the Business Process, if applicable;
• Stays and works beyond scheduled shift if needed to meet state staffing requirements and/or needs of patients.
