Job Description

The Transportation Operations Lead is responsible for assisting in driving carrier and service provider performance through collaboration and coordination of people, carriers, and facilities of the team analysts, and stakeholders they support. Their ability to understand, communicate, and present customer needs to various audiences is critical. In this role, being able to troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve issues is key. The right candidate will have a positive attitude, ability and drive analyst productivity, while also keeping strong relationships across the business.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive carrier and service provider performance for the US Hub or Spoke locations
• Collect and interpret data, identify opportunities related to transportation operations
• Ownership of Fleet/Yard Management, Spokes and ATL Ops Programs
• Identify areas of opportunity to support a proactive approach to workloads
• Provide support and development of team analysts to include nights and weekends whereas needed.
• Create and enhance tools to provide better efficiencies for business partners and team members.
• Promote, and maintain positive customer relationships
• Drive the monitoring of carrier KPIs and metrics for transportation analysis
• Present opportunities of improvement to stakeholders
• Coordinate and collaborate with multiple warehouses, carriers and service providers across locations and regions on transportation needs
• Manage and influence corrective actions for ongoing delivery issues/opportunities
• Proactively approach and resolve bottlenecks in the shipping and receiving processes
• Update and document standard operating procedures, work instructions, and training materials

Qualifications

Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
• Must have strong communication skills
• 1-2 years of leadership experience (preferred)
• 2-3 Years of Transportation & Logistics related experience
• 1-2 Years of Warehousing experience ( preferred)

Education Required:

• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree

Physical Requirements:

• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles
• Occasional overnight travel; less than 10% of the time may be required
