Job Summary

Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging exams including CT, MRI, X-Ray, and Mammography to capture detailed anatomical and pathological images for radiologist interpretation, following established protocols and safety guidelines.

Essential Functions

Consistently deliver imaging exams that meet radiologist approval and adhere to accepted standards. Ensure patient safety during imaging procedures by following manufacturer instructions, facility policies, and industry best practices to minimize risks such as injury, electric shock, burns, radiation exposure, and interference with medical devices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MRI and CT safety protocols. Administer radiologic contrast agents and saline via IV as ordered. Accurately document and communicate exam details, including any complications or incomplete studies, within electronic health records. Position patients appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, either college-affiliated or hospital-based.

Licensure and Certifications

Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with documented training in diagnostic CT and/or MRI exams, or certification in nuclear medicine technology with CT training. CT and/or MRI registry must be obtained within one year of hire. State certification to practice radiation technology is required. Current CPR/BLS certification is mandatory.

Experience

Minimum of one year of radiologic or imaging experience. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree preferred but not required. Specific experience and training in CT/MRI modalities is highly valued. Familiarity with software such as Stentor, EPIC, Microsoft Office, and internet applications is advantageous.
