About the Opportunity
La Bocca Ristorante in Manasquan, NJ is seeking an experienced Lead Line Cook to join our kitchen team.
We are looking for a dependable, hands-on culinary professional who can work closely with our tight-knit kitchen team while maintaining high standards for food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and efficiency. You will play an important role in the day-to-day success of our kitchen and help execute our scratch-made Italian menu with precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily food preparation to ensure quality and presentation standards are consistently met.
- Coordinate kitchen workflow and order management during service.
- Monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate supplies and minimize waste.
- Maintain quality control throughout food preparation and service.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards.
- Monitor and enforce kitchen safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Work closely with the chef/owner to support smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Participate in cross-training across other kitchen responsibilities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of culinary experience.
- Strong food preparation and line cooking skills (classic Italian cuisine preferred).
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards.
- Experience with inventory management and quality control.
- Proven ability to lead and support a kitchen team.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Compensation & Schedule
- $200 per day
- Full-time opportunity
- Restaurant operates 6 days per week
- Closed every Monday
- Cross-training and opportunities for continued culinary development
