Job 158323 - General Store Cashier / Stocker Memphis, TN Job Title: General Store Cashier / Stocker Reports to: General Manager General Responsibilities: Greeting customers. Informing customers about products and services. Establishing or identifying prices of goods. Applying price stickers. Scanning or keying in merchandise prices. Calculating total prices. Assisting in the development of window and counter displays under the supervision of the General Manager. Keeping stock rooms organized and clean. Interacting with customers professionally and courteously. Encouraging sales and enhancing the Memphis experience. Having knowledge about sister venues such as Blues City Café, Club 152 on Beale, etc. Checking inventory upon receipt of merchandise to invoice and confirm shipment. Handling cash and credit transactions honestly and professionally. Managing outgoing merchandise and reconciling payments with sales. Preparing deposits, closing the register, and managing the float. Maintaining cleanliness and order in checkout areas, stock rooms, and the store. Participating in inventory counts and other duties as assigned. Prioritizing workload effectively. Remaining calm and focused in busy environments. Participating in other activities as needed. Requirements Required: Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively with management and staff, making quick decisions. Managing multiple tasks in high-paced, stressful environments while remaining calm. Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, lift, and carry items. Manual dexterity to operate computers and office equipment. Business acumen to connect duties to business results. Professional appearance and demeanor. Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral. Basic math skills and ability to operate a cash register or POS system. Proactive in handling guest requests and concerns. Organized in storage, displays, and stock rooms. Willingness to work day and night shifts as needed. Physical Requirements: Ability to speak and hear. Good vision, including color recognition. Frequent walking and standing.
