Job Summary The Lead Estimator is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects, helping secure profitable contracts. This role involves analyzing project plans, collaborating with architects, suppliers, and subcontractors, and using industry software to determine labor, material, and time requirements, ensuring that bids align with client specifications and company objectives. The Lead Estimator plays a critical role in identifying cost‑saving opportunities and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of market rates, construction techniques, and regulatory requirements to support informed decision-making. As a representative of CCC, you are responsible for the safety actions of yourself and others on an active CCC construction project. You have the right and responsibility to stop unsafe work and enforce safety protocol and safe practices. Job Duties Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and time requirements. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., architects, engineers, subcontractors) to gather information and clarify project details. Conduct market research to stay current on material prices, labor costs, and construction industry trends. Participate in bid meetings and site visits to understand the project scope and site conditions. Identify potential cost‑saving opportunities and value engineering options during the estimating process. Present estimates and bids to management, clearly explaining the assumptions, risks, and contingencies involved. Oversee the preparation and submission of bid proposals within required deadlines. Update and maintain a database of historical cost information to improve estimating accuracy. Assist in contract negotiations and transition of successful bids to project teams for execution. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with experience in a lead or senior role. Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize work assignments. Extreme attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Availability to work extended hours as required by project schedules or urgent circumstances. Efficient with Onscreen Takeoff‑Quick Bid, and develop a working knowledge of Procore as needed. Knowledge of actual cost, and seek out actual cost data from the company and other sources and apply actual cost knowledge to bidding. Other Travel Requirements: INSERT TRAVEL Ergonomic Requirements: Prolonged periods: standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at a time.
