Director of Operations

We are looking for a Director of Operations who will lead operations for the administrative, campus and business teams for a well respected client. In this role you will collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer, translating organizational vision into action by leading day-to-day operations, managing major initiatives, improving systems and processes, and ensuring that projects move from concept to completion. The Director of Operations provides leadership for Human Resources, Facilities, Information Technology, Security, Communications, Events and Administrative Services. This is a hands-on role, with a wide breath of oversight, working with a small team. Operational Leadership Builds collaboration across departments, establishes priorities and goals, and ensures Temple Solel is consistently represented with professionalism, kindness, generosity of spirit, and meticulous diligence. Supervising, coaching, leading and supporting operational staff. Ensuring goals are clearly defined and expectations met. Conducting regular check-ins and performance reviews. Solving operational challenges alongside staff. Promoting accountability, responsiveness, and a commitment to excellence. Campus Operations Responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement of the Temple campus. Leading technology infrastructure, including building systems, cameras, access control, and related technologies. Overseeing campus security systems, security vendors, and emergency preparedness. Soliciting proposals, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, monitoring vendor performance, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget. Planning operational logistics for High Holy Days and major Temple events in partnership with the CEO, clergy, and staff. Administrative Systems Continuously evaluates and improves how Temple Solel operates by creating systems that are efficient, scalable, and easy for both staff and congregants to navigate. Leading software implementations and technology improvements. Improving website functionality and administrative workflows. Improve hiring, employee onboarding and separation processes. Identifying opportunities to improve organizational efficiency, communication, and engagement. Strategic Implementations Works closely with the Chief Executive Officer to implement Temple Solel's strategic priorities. Serves as Project Manager for major organizational initiatives from planning through completion. Developing project plans, timelines, operational checklists, and implementation strategies. Ensuring projects are successful, on budget and on time. Run meetings and monitor project milestones. Provide regular progress updates to CEO. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field. 8-10 years of progressive experience in Operations with leadership roles within the service industry, education, non-profit, hospitality or business services. Proven success managing capital improvement projects, building relationships with vendors, and delivering quality outcomes. Demonstrated ability to enhance process, create efficiency, improve communication, and build high performing, collaborative teams.
