Job Description

Chase Memorial Nursing Home & Rehab is seeking a dependable and hardworking Custodian to join our team!

Job Details:

Monday - Friday 4:00pm - 12:30am included in the on-call rotation 1 week per month

Must have a valid drivers license

Position SummaryThe Custodian is responsible for supporting the overall cleanliness, safety, and operations of the facility. This position assists with resident moves, facility event setup, trash and recycling removal, delivery and storage of incoming items, minor maintenance requests, floor care, and maintaining the safety and appearance of the facility and grounds.

Essential Responsibilities Include:• Completing remedial and scheduled work orders• Maintaining accurate and timely records of labor and completed work• Reporting repeated concerns and equipment issues to management• Assisting with resident room moves and furniture relocation• Setting up and breaking down facility events• Trash, recycling, medical waste, and hazardous waste collection and storage• Delivering and storing incoming supplies and equipment• Handling minor maintenance requests, including toilet plunging and light bulb replacement• Assisting maintenance personnel with facility projects and repairs• Maintaining floor care equipment and cleaning equipment inspections• Completing preventative maintenance tasks and associated documentation• Cleaning floors, walls, stairwells, louvres, furniture, equipment, and light fixtures• Maintaining the cleanliness of buildings, work areas, shop areas, and outside grounds• Snow and ice removal, including operation and maintenance of related equipment• Following safety procedures to prevent damage or injury• Participating in on-call rotation one week per month• Working overtime as required to meet facility needs

Competencies & Education• Completes all required Healthcare Academy courses and ongoing education• Attends required in-services and maintains required competencies

Qualifications• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic required• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Ability to lift, move, and transport equipment and supplies• Previous custodial, maintenance, or floor care experience preferred

Must have a valid Driver's License and be 18 years of age

1-3 years experience preferred.
