Youth Mentor / Direct Care Professional (Youth)

Job Summary Our Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS) group home is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Staff to join our team. In this role, you will provide mentorship, emotional support, and personal care to female‑identified adolescents (ages 12-18) in a structured, home‑like residential setting. You will play a key role in helping these young individuals develop life skills, build positive relationships, and navigate their daily routines in a supportive and nurturing environment. Answer must be able to work weekends. Responsibilities and Essential Duties Provide guidance and supervision to all youth in care. Administer daily medication(s) to youth. Prepare meals and snacks according to the posted monthly menu(s). Provide transportation to and from activities, counseling, and other services. Make telephone calls to confirm appointments and locate resources. Maintain current information and adhere to WAC for group care and program policies and procedures. Maintain records and statistics as required by the agency, state, and other funding sources. Perform administrative assignments as requested. Relate to and work with youth that are emotionally upset and at times hostile. Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Fulfill all mandatory contract and program training requirements. Assist in maintaining a clean household environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Overnight Direct Care / Youth Mentor Staff Duties Conduct regular bed checks to monitor and ensure the safety and well‑being of all participants. Prepare and serve a nutritious breakfast to start the day. Assist the management team with administrative tasks, including shredding outdated documents, data entry for programming and quality assurance, and ensuring the facility is cleaned and disinfected. Update shift notes in Extended Reach prior to your shift ending. Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidates will demonstrate supportiveness, flexibility, cultural sensitivity, and trauma‑informed practices. They should excel in effective communication, engaging both adolescents in the program and fellow team members. Candidates must be comfortable working in a regulated environment and adhering to program licensing guidelines. They should possess the ability to respond promptly, empathetically, and appropriately to the challenges of working in a residential facility. Education and Work Experience At least 21 years of age. High school diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, and Outlook. Effective communication and problem‑solving skills. 1 year of experience in residential care or a similar environment. Understanding of adolescent developmental issues, trauma, abuse and neglect, as well as substance abuse and dependence. Proficiency in strong administrative skills.
