Reports to/Team Dynamic: Engineering Design Team / Engineering Manager Rate: $30/hour About the Role: Brooksource is seeking an Engineer I to join a leading utility organization in Atlanta, GA. This opportunity is ideal for recent engineering graduates or early-career professionalslooking to build their careers in the power and utilities industry. In this role, you'll workalongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to support the design, construction, and maintenance of critical power infrastructure. You'll gain hands-on experience developing engineering solutions, supporting field operations, and ensuringprojects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. What You'll Do: Apply engineering principles, design standards, and software tools to support thedesign of power-related systems. Prepare project estimates, evaluate design alternatives, and develop constructionspecifications and engineering packages. Review contractor-produced designs, cost estimates, and construction documentsto ensure quality and compliance with company standards. Partner with engineering, construction, maintenance, and operations teams to support project execution and day-to-day system needs. Estimate project materials and provide technical support throughout theconstruction lifecycle. Utilize engineering software and Microsoft Office applications to prepare technicaldocumentation and maintain project records. Champion a safety-first culture by following established safety procedures and supporting safe engineering and construction practices. What You Bring: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred). 0–5 years of engineering experience; internship or co-op experience is highlypreferred. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical documentation. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Basic knowledge of engineering design software; CAD/GIS experience is preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams. Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, hydraulic analysis experience, or projectmanagement exposure is a plus.
