Wound Ostomy Coordinator (Registered Nurse) Marion Health · Wound / Ostomy Full Time , Days Hours/Pay Period: 80 Posted 10/03/2025 Job Summary This position functions in the role of expert clinician, educator, consultant, case manager, and researcher. In collaboration with physicians, healthcare providers, and nursing staff, monitors the clinical care of patients and provides clinical support to improve patient care and patient outcomes. Incorporated within each of these role functions, this position is a role model, patient advocate, change agent, leader and cost‑effective practitioner. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Must hold a current Indiana Registered Nurse License. Minimum of two years nursing experience in hospital or practice setting. BLS certification or must obtain during Orientation and prior to reporting to department. Preferred Job Requirements Successful completion of master’s level of a formal Clinical Nursing Specialist program. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities A professional knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other managed care regulations pertinent to reimbursement practices. Maintain competent knowledge and skills to access nursing care based on age‑specific and developmental needs of the patient (child‑geriatrics). Be able to comprehend research materials, statistics, and medical records to communicate findings effectively both verbally and in writing. Excellent communication skills to effectively and tactfully communicate with patients and their families and guests, co‑workers, managers, providers and other hospital personnel on a one‑to‑one basis using appropriate grammar, vocabulary and word usage. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to carry out duties in a professional manner, as well as the ability to work well under stress. Highly developed computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and proficiently perform computer applications related to department operations and job function. Analytical and statistical skills to comprehend and analyze healthcare data and reports. Strong organizational skills in order to manage multiple issues simultaneously combined with the ability to effectively prioritize work flow. Ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of any confidential matter or information encountered during the performance of job duties. Working Conditions Clinical environment as well as different nursing units with risk of exposure to blood, body fluid or other potentially infectious materials. May be at risk for electrical hazards or hazardous materials. Works with protected health information. May work extended hours, holidays or weekends based on the needs of the department. Physical and Mental Activities, Tools and Equipment Standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling to provide patient care and to utilize patient care devices necessary to perform duties in a safe manner. Uses of computers and other standard office equipment along with patient care equipment. Lifting supplies and equipment typically found in office or clinical areas.
