Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Connecticut
• Experience teaching in self-contained classrooms, preferably with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
• Ability to develop, modify, and implement curriculum tailored to individual student needs
• Insightful classroom management and positive behavior support skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with staff, families, and support professionals

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, individualized instruction for K-2nd grade students in a self-contained setting
• Create a safe, welcoming environment that supports social, emotional, and academic growth
• Monitor student progress, update IEP goals, and document development
• Partner with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure a coordinated approach to student success
• Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions for students on the autism spectrum
