Job Title

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Controller in producing accurate and timely financial statements

Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation

Assist in special projects as necessary

Accurate and timely information for financial statement production

Ensure compliance with federal and state laws

Performance analysis of operations that drive growth, strategy and profitability initiatives

Financial plans and forecasts are developed and variances are analyzed against plans

Processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense reports

General ledger detail review and proper creation of journal entries in a timely manner

Ensure inventory matches asset accounting

Coordinating month-end and year-end reporting, preparing accruals and schedules, and submitting monthly and ad hoc financial reporting packages.

Daily/Monthly P&L (Financial reporting)

Post monthly journal entries (standard, accruals, and misc.)

Corporate reporting and account reconciliations (analysis and variances)

Ensure Intercompany balances at month end

Download and reconcile monthly outstanding checks from the bank to the balance sheet

Actuals/Forecast/Budget

Operational/Financial analysis - Repair & Maintenance meetings with GM/R&M Mgr. /Purchasing Mgr.

Capital Expenditures (Fixed Assets)

Operating Leases

Capital Spare Parts and inventory

Audit (External and Internal)

Oversee/Monitor Finished Goods inventory

Meet with GM, Production Mgr. and/or Shipping Lead to discuss customer complaints

Analyze freight charges from CL and track fuel surcharge rates weekly

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent communication skills. Able to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, training and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to solve a variety of problems and deal with situations where limited information or standardization exists.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, proportions, and volumes.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

Application knowledge and skill for computer data entry

Quality standards – both ISO and QS

Equipment used in an office operation and it's capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. This also supports the Service Manager role of teacher and trainer for his/her personnel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving equipment in the work area. The employee is sometimes exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, along with hot and cold temperatures depending upon the season. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business - CPA certification is a plus.

Minimum of 3 years of hands-large manufacturing accounting experience.

Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll working knowledge.

Experience in assessing, analyzing and improving business performance.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

Strong organizational and time management skills. Reacts well to time pressure, comfortable working in a plant environment and is motivated to learn all aspects of the manufacturing operation.

Skills – Strong Excel spreadsheet working knowledge, Word, and PowerPoint. SAP proficiency preferred.
