At Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center (DVSC), we specialize in advanced surgical care for dogs and cats, including neurologic, orthopedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive procedures. Compensation: $20 - $23/hr. based on experience and credentials

Schedule:

• Full Time 4x10 hour shifts per week 7:00am – 5:00pm Weekends required

Job Description: The Patient Care Veterinary Technician provides exceptional nursing care and technical support to surgical and hospitalized patients. This role works closely with surgeons and the specialty team to ensure patients receive attentive monitoring, pain management, and compassionate care throughout recovery and hospitalization. Responsibilities: As a vital member of our team, you'll assist our veterinarians in a wide range of duties, including:

• IV catheter placement, blood drawing, and IV fluid maintenance
• Surgical recovery, post-op pain management, and patient monitoring
• Radiographs, surgical prep, and induction assistance
• Daily upkeep of the patient care ward and accurate patient documentation
• Compassionate client communication and patient-focused care

Qualifications:

• You are a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Technician dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care.
• You are dedicated to maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture and genuinely love working with people that share that same value.
• Take the initiative – you are a hard worker who contributes to the operation of the entire hospital, you will help get all the day's duties done!
• You are versatile – you know how to effectively adapt to the individual needs of each patient and are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of patients and their families.
• You possess clinical skills and experience that include (but are not limited to): Safe patient restraint, excellent client service, phlebotomy and catheter placement, knowledge of radiology safety and proper technique, proficient in post-op monitoring and care of surgical patients, solid foundation of knowledge of common veterinary medications, individualized, patient-focused nursing.

• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required; multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
