Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

Schedule

Scheduled for nights, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with alternating weekends.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will hold shift accountability for providing clinical care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients. The nurse will utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy and procedures. This role requires demonstrating critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of care. The nurse will maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and delegate patient care priorities in line with the educational and experiential background of the staff available.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Maintain compliance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate leadership and critical thinking in patient-care scenarios.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Permanent address must be greater than 50 miles from the facility
• Registered Nurse license in the applicable state
