Manager, Event & Venue Management Workforce & Training The Event Managementteamis responsible forleading the integrated event operational planning at the venue level for all competitionand some major non-competition venues.The group is also responsible for managing and coordinating the negotiation of venue agreements, the collation and organization of venue-related documentation and data, and the maintenance of strong working relationships with all venue partners.At Games Time, theEventManagement team leads and manages the event teams at venues, event delivery, venue communication, and venue issue resolution. Position Overview The Manager, EVM Workforce & Training is a dual-focus leadership role responsible for preparing the Event & Venue Management (EVM) Games-time workforce. This role manages two critical pillars: Workforce Planning & Strategy: Primary liaison between EVM, Workforce, and other Functional Areas, ensuring the deliveryof a cohesive, inclusive, and world-class service model aligned with the LA28 Games vision. Operational Training Development: Designing, developing, and executing comprehensive training curricula, encompassingprograms and modules forEVMprofessional development,Role-SpecificTraining, and VenueTraining. The ideal candidate will combineexpertisein workforce planning and instructional design with the operational agilityrequiredto prepare staff, contractors, and volunteers for flawless Games-time execution. This position will report to the Vice President, Event & Venue Management. Responsibilities Workforce Planning & Strategy Operational Hiring Strategy: Oversee and scale the end-to-end recruitment process for critical EVM leadership positions, including Event General Managers, Common Domain Managers, Back of House Managers, and the teams working in the Event Coordination Center and the Venue Operations Center. Lead the development of the EVM Workforce Plan, including staffing models, role profiles, and deployment strategies across venue clusters. Collaborate with Workforce and Venue Management teams to define Games-time staffing ratios, schedules, and requirements. Support recruitment planning for both paid staff and volunteers. Drive workforce integration within EVM aligned with Games-time venue hierarchies. Curriculum Design & Training Development End-to-End Training Pathways: Author and manage the design, development, and maintenance of all training materials for EVM teams, focusing on professional development,Role-SpecificTraining, and Venue Training. Content Creation: Design engaging learning content,includingpresentations,interactive exercises,self-guidedmanuals,train-the-trainermodules, andJust in Time Training -tailored to both paid staff and volunteers. Training Delivery & Readiness Operations Facilitation & Training Delivery: Lead high-impact training workshops and briefings, preparing EVM leaders totrain their respective teams. Venue Training Coordination: Collaborate withFunctional Areas andEGMsto support theirdelivery oflocalized, venuetrainingand orientation tours. Manage workforce communications and briefing processes. Oversee on-site training and support for venue EVM leaders during Games-time. Collaboration,Integration& Reporting Serve as EVM’s main liaison with Workforce, Learning & Development, and Volunteer Management. Partner with Event Visitor Services, Security, and Transport for coordinated operations. Support EVMmilestones across Event Operations Planning (EOP)phases. TrackKPIs toreport onEVM workforceprogress (across recruitment, on-boarding, professional development,testingexercises, and training),utilizingmanagement dashboards to report readiness status to senior leadership. Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in, Workforce Planning, or Training Management within a major sports & entertainment venue or a multi-event organizing committee. WorkforceData:datamanagementskills inExcel and othertools to supporttracking and reporting. Instructional Design: Demonstratedsuccess in developing, writing, and delivering multi-tiered training programs (professional, operational, and venue-specific). Presentation & Facilitation: Exceptional public speaking, coaching, and storytelling skills, with the ability to confidently present to audiences of all sizes. Technical Tools: ConfidenceworkingLearning Management Systems (LMS), and standard office productivity suites. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Sport Management, Instructional Design, ora relatedfield. Preferred Qualifications Event Background: Prior experience working within a sports organizing committee (e.g., Olympic/Paralympic Games, FIFA World Cup, or similar scale) is highly desirable. Operational Familiarity: Direct experience working in or supporting active venue operations or event-day staffing plans. Physical Expectations The position is in Los Angeles with in-person attendancerequired. The majority ofwork will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment Ability to travel occasionally to different venues across the Los Angeles region andpossibly outsidethe Greater Los Angeles region Extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be necessary during operational periods. Compensation The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000-$115,000 . The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
