Tell us about the unit(s):

• Number of Beds – 17 pre/post bays
• Number of Staff – 3 FT staff and 1 PT staff
• Type of staff:
  • Day Shift – They are all Day shift, we use PRN staff to help our core staffing currently
  • Night Shift -
• Patient Ratios – Pre-Op 1:2, PACU Phase 1 is 1:1 and Phase 2 is 2:2
• Type of equipment – Stretchers, Blood glucose, Monitors, BP, Pyxis machines
• EMR - Meditech

Typical hiring profile

Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)

Must have

candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

• Minimum 1-year current PACU experience
• BLS & ACLS

Preferred or nice to have

candidates with these skills will be considered first.

• Knowledge of PT/OT instructions for Joint patients
• Comfortable with bedside teaching

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):

• Total joint procedures, Sports Med, Foot/Ankle, some Podiatry, hand and nerve cases
• General surgery (Hernias, Lap appy, Lap chole cases primarily), Breast cases with some plastic reconstruction (mastectomy with tissue expanders or direct to implant cases).
