Industrial Civil Helper Full Time | Clute, TX, US 4 days ago | Requisition ID: 1834 Position Overview The Industrial Civil Helper will provide support and assistance to various civil engineering projects. Tasks include material handling, equipment operation, site preparation, and general construction duties. Responsibilities Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from the work site. Maintain an organized inventory of materials and supplies. Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up safety barriers, and erecting temporary structures as directed by the project supervisor. Operate basic equipment such as hand tools, wheelbarrows, and small machinery under guidance of experienced operators. Collaborate with skilled tradespeople, report any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly. Assist in excavation work, digging trenches, and preparing the ground for foundations, utilities, or drainage systems. Assist in leveling and grading of surfaces as required. Support concrete‑related tasks such as mixing, pouring, and finishing. Help with installation of rebar and formwork. Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing debris, garbage, and hazardous materials. Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment. Record and report work progress, including materials used, tasks completed, and any issues encountered, to the project supervisor. Maintain accurate documentation for project reports. Work closely with other team members, including engineers and technicians, contributing to a positive and productive work environment. Qualifications Must have at least 1–2+ years of experience as an Industrial Civil Helper. Must be able to follow instructions correctly. Must be willing and able to adhere to all instructed safety regulations. Must maintain a reliable work schedule and be available for overtime with proper notification. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must pass drug and background checks. Knowledge & Skills Material handling and inventory management. Site preparation and safety barrier setup. Basic equipment operation and maintenance. Excavation, grading, and foundation preparation. Concrete handling, rebar installation, and formwork. Documentation and reporting of job progress. Personal Attributes & Capabilities High intellectual ability and capability to learn. Willingness to share expertise and make decisions. Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit. Adaptability to changing work environment and tasks. Effective communication and punctual time management. Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements Regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting. Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. Work at heights, climb ladders, stairways, and occasionally work on platforms or scaffolding with proper fall protection. Work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE. Wear required personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, hi‑vis vests, leather gloves, and steel‑toed boots.
