Aircraft Component Repair Tech II - Weekend Day in GAC Texas This position is for our Landing Gear shop working on our current and legacy aircraft. Previous experience performing repair and overhaul of landing gear and hydraulic systems is preferred. Candidates should be able to work with manuals, blueprints and engineering dispositions, and perform precision measuring using calipers, depth gauges and micrometers. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering documents and use precision measuring tools. Proficient operation of all shop tools and equipment, including glass bead and carboblast machines. Basic understanding of shop mathematics. Minimum two years of experience in sheetmetal, hydraulic overhaul, electrical/electronic harness buildup, electrical systems troubleshooting, battery servicing, APU removal, installation, or servicing. Flexibility to work weekend day shifts, with the ability to shift to other schedules as required by business needs. Responsibilities Repair and overhaul internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components under Gulfstream Repair Station requirements. Apply basic and advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment as appropriate to area of specialization. Perform repairs of mechanical and electrical assemblies through removals, repairs or replacements of defective parts, fabrication of replacement parts, and installations following blueprints, component maintenance manuals, vendor documents, verbal instructions, and engineering dispositions. Set up, maintain, and operate necessary test equipment to conduct functional and operational tests of mechanical and electrical components. Inspect all detail parts using blueprints, component, and overhaul manuals to ensure conformance. Remove skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structure components, locate, install, or reinstall parts. Demonstrate effective repair techniques, including troubleshooting, soldering, and application of protective coatings. Maintain and utilize all required paperwork in accordance with FAA Repair Station requirements. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and comply with all company and environmental health and safety regulations. Lay out, remove, fabricate, and install major and minor repairs to flight controls and other secondary structure components, including honeycomb core sandwich construction, composite repair techniques, test bench operations, hydraulic press operations, and servicing carts. Fabricate and repair sheetmetal and associated mechanical parts, components, and equipment by rolling, shrinking, stretching, braking, riveting, or other mechanical means. Remove and install APUs and perform all required APU maintenance for all Gulfstream aircraft models. Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical assemblies and harnesses using splicing, soldering, and pinning of wires. Utilize training and tools to troubleshoot complex electrical circuits and systems during the component repair process. Assist with training and instructing Acft Component Repair I Techs. Resolve routine questions and problems, referring more complex issues to higher levels. Perform other duties as assigned.
