The Opportunity:

McCrometer is seeking a full time Field Service Engineer I to join our team! This exciting opportunity is anticipated to be 20% remote/work-from-home with 80% of the time completing field work in Southern Nebraska / around McCook, Alma, Holdredge and Imperial, NE area . Due to our comprehensive training and team-oriented work environment, travel out-of-state and out-of-country may be required occasionally throughout the year.

What Will I Be Doing?

With standard working hours being 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, you’ll provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers both over the phone and in the field. When working from your home (20% of the time), you’ll spend your days on the phone with customers to support and troubleshoot the design, construction, installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of our instrumentation. The rest of your time (80%), you’ll travel to the customer’s location (either in your own vehicle with fuel/mileage reimbursed or by air) to provide hands-on support for installation or diagnostic/repair work.

When traveling for work, you can anticipate occasional overnight stays at company-approved hotels (employee safety is one of our topmost priorities!). Sometimes you will see an overnight here-and-there, other work assignments may require overnight stays around one week.

What Qualifications Do I Need?

• Mechanical skills and/or experience is a must – we especially want to hear from you if your background also includes electronics or telemetry!

• Strong customer service skills.

• You have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

What Will Make Me Stand Out?

• You have previous Field Service experience.

• Your background includes working with irrigation pipelines or pump controls.

• Proven ability to self-manage and take initiative; you are resilient, resourceful, and an expert at managing a busy workload with competing priorities.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $62,000.00 - $71,800.00 USD per year.
