Job Title : Project Engineer of EMS company

Location : San Jose, California, USA

Job Description:

We are a leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company headquartered in Japan, seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our team in the United States. The ideal candidate will serve as a key technical liaison between our customer’s design team, and manufacturing facilities across China and Mexico. This role requires strong engineering expertise, excellent communication skills, and fluency in both English and Chinese.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Collaboration :
2. • Directly participate in design review meetings with customers' design engineers for new projects.
   • Provide technical expertise during design discussions to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and feasible.
   • Answer customers' technical questions and provide solutions during project reviews.
3. Requirement Transfer :
4. • Translate and transfer customers’ design requirements to our mold manufacturing team in China.
   • Ensure clear communication of technical specifications, design adjustments, and timelines with the manufacture team in China and Mexico
5. Manufacturing Support :
6. • Collaborate with our assembly, injection molding, and stamping factories in Mexico to transfer technical knowledge and ensure seamless production processes.
   • Follow up on production requirements, troubleshoot technical issues, and support first article samples build and the approval in customer side..
7. Project Management :
8. • Act as the technical project owner for new product introductions (NPI) in the U.S. market.
   • Track project milestones, ensure timely delivery, and update stakeholders on progress.
9. Cross-Cultural Communication :
10. • Act as a bridge between teams in the U.S., Hong Kong, China, and Mexico , ensuring smooth communication across regions.
    • Work in a bilingual environment , effectively communicating technical details in both Chinese and English .

Qualifications:

1. Education :
2. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
3. Experience :
4. • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project engineering or a similar role, preferably in the EMS or manufacturing industry.
   • Strong background in design review , new product introduction (NPI) , and manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, assembly).
5. Technical Skills :
6. • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and experience with design validation processes.
   • Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) .
   • Basic knowledge of mold tooling and plastic injection molding processes is a plus.
7. Language Skills :
8. • Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin) to facilitate communication with teams and customers across regions.
9. Soft Skills :
10. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
11. Preferred Location :
12. • Must be based in or willing to relocate to San Jose, California or nearby areas.
