Electronics Controls Technician

Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging, is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Electronics Controls Technician in their Converting Plant in Grand Prairie, TX. The Electronics Controls Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment in a manufacturing environment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance of industrial control systems, PLCs, and various electronic components while maintaining safety standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager. This is a 3/2 Schedule Night Shift position from 7pm-7am Sun/Wed/Thurs - Mon/Tues/Fri/Sat## **\\*\\*\\* We are currently Offering a $3,000 Stay Bonus for this position. \\*\\*\\*****Key Responsibilities:*** Install, troubleshoot, and maintain complex electronic/electrical equipment, including comprehensive work on PLCs, motor relays, circuit breakers, and industrial control systems to ensure optimal facility operations* Diagnose, repair, and maintain sophisticated electronic systems, including detailed work with PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, vision systems, and AC/DC drives, while ensuring all automated manufacturing equipment operates at peak efficiency* Perform precise calibration, alignment, and modification of electronic components and circuitry, implementing preventive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and performance metrics* Modify and program PLC systems and machine logic, including creation and maintenance of ladder logic programs, while maintaining comprehensive system backups and documentation* Assist in Developing and implementing comprehensive training programs for maintenance associates, creating detailed technical materials and conducting hands-on instruction sessions for equipment operation, troubleshooting, and safety protocols* Manage facility-wide electrical safety initiatives and arc flash program, ensuring strict OSHA compliance, conducting regular audits, and maintaining up-to-date documentation of all safety procedures* Execute complex system upgrades and modifications, including designing electrical layouts, installing conduit systems, sizing appropriate wiring, and implementing advanced control system improvements to enhance production efficiency* Support large-scale engineering projects from conception through implementation, providing expert technical guidance and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes* Maintain and document critical manufacturing equipment programs through systematic backup procedures for PLCs, HMIs, drives, and vision systems, ensuring business continuity* Perform advanced troubleshooting of complex electronic issues using sophisticated diagnostic equipment and technical documentation, implementing both immediate solutions and long-term preventive measures* Coordinate effectively with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical challenges, implement system improvements, and maintain rigorous equipment performance standards* Participate in facility-wide continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for system upgrades, process enhancements, and efficiency improvements, including cost-saving measures* Perform and maintain comprehensive Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures and safety systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations while protecting personnel and equipment* Must be willing to help troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems* Other duties as assigned**Education** **& Experience:*** 3-5 years hands on experience as Electronics Technician* Electronics Technology degree preferred* Apprentice completion in electrical trades preferred**Required Skills:*** Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting* Proficiency in Mechanical Skills* Strong knowledge of industrial controls and automation* Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms* Expertise in electrical/electronic systems troubleshooting* Understanding of NEC electrical codes* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite* Industrial electronics expertise* Servo and drive systems* Electrical safety knowledge* Training capabilities* Problem-solving ability**Additional Requirements:*** Must be 18 years of age* Must pass pre-employment assessment* Drug screening required* Background check required**K******nowledge**, Skills & Abilities:*** Industrial control systems and automation* PLC programming and ladder logic* Electrical and electronic theory* Safety protocols and procedures* Process control systems* Industrial networking and communications* NEC and safety regulations* Advanced troubleshooting and Technical problem-solving* Equipment calibration* Programming and software modification* Technical documentation* Training and mentoring* Preventive maintenance* Manage multiple priorities* Effective Communication* Adapt to changing technology* Make quick decisions under pressure* Lead and coordinate projects* Basic knowledge of Machine tools;
