Role: Language Lead Lead language services for the ALAC region, inspiring a talented team of Creative Directors, Editors, and Project Managers to deliver world‑class marketing communications. Collaborate with the Global Language Operations Lead, Group Account Director, and senior leadership to drive strategy, innovation, and best practice. Key Measures of Success Continuous delivery of all ALAC language projects, striving for excellence at every step. Maintain consistent language quality. Develop and own a strong strategic partnership with client teams. Provide effective team leadership across multiple locations. Implement global initiatives to meet business and client needs. Lead ALAC to a global leadership position. Key Responsibilities Manage a team of Transcreation Account Managers and linguists to ensure an efficient localisation set‑up and high‑quality output. Build an inclusive team culture that embodies collaboration, fresh thinking, a can‑do attitude, and WPP Production values. Review team requirements and, with data, ensure the client is serviced appropriately while maintaining profitability. Delegate effectively and empower individuals to take full ownership of projects. Lead language recruitment and coordinate training/on‑boarding for new and existing team members. Report to senior leadership on all matters relating to language and coaching of the team. Collaborate with key clients and senior managers to establish strong partnerships and deliver against contractual obligations, KPIs, and SLAs. Identify barriers, propose solutions, and communicate recommendations clearly during planning and review sessions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives with the global Language SME and share best practices across WPP Production. Manage finance: contribute to budget planning, re‑forecasting, reconciliations, and analysis; monitor utilization and report on performance and productivity; ensure compliance with financial procedures; lead business reviews to Director level. Maintain strong relationships with freelance talent and manage talent engagement activities. Requirements Proven experience in a lead client servicing role with deep understanding of language processes, transcreation, and localisation, preferably from a linguistic or creative background. Experience in budgeting and forecasting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in presenting and storytelling. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, keeping a keen eye for detail. Track record of continuous improvement, delivering high quality and excellent customer service. Agency experience managing international clients across multiple markets and stakeholders. Experience running an account team, including resource planning. People‑management experience. Highly organized and detail‑oriented. Fluent in English (a second language is preferred but not required). Alignment with WPP Production values. Willingness and ability to travel as required.
