Employer: PADCOM Design & Construction Management Services Client: Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Division: Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Location: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – Onsite Schedule: Full-Time (Night Shift) About the Role PADCOM Design & Construction Management Services is seeking an Electrical/IT Inspector to support LAWA construction inspection services across multiple airport projects. This role is responsible for inspecting electrical and low-voltage systems across public works, buildings, tenant improvement projects, and civil/electrical construction. The position ensures all work complies with approved plans, specifications, codes, safety regulations, and LAWA standards in an active airport environment. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections of electrical and IT systems in buildings, public rights-of-way, and tenant improvement projects. Verify installation of electrical systems complies with plans, specifications, and applicable codes. Inspect low-voltage IT systems and ensure proper integration and code compliance. Review and interpret construction documents including drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders. Prepare detailed daily inspection reports documenting construction progress and deficiencies. Track field changes, quantities, and time‑and‑material work. Support validation of contractor payment applications based on completed work. Systems Inspected Underground electrical utilities and conduit systems High-voltage gear and electrical panels 400 Hz systems and conductor installations Grounding systems and circuit breakers Interior and exterior lighting systems Fire life safety systems including smoke/heat detection and suppression systems (FM‑200) Lockout/tagout procedures and electrical shutdowns IT systems including access control, security cameras, communication systems, and PA systems Education High school diploma or equivalent Certifications (Required) Current ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector certification Cal‑OSHA 30‑hour training NFPA 70E certification (within the last 3 years) NFPA 13 training certification Fall protection and harness training Experience Minimum 3 years of electrical/IT inspection experience in building construction Minimum 3 years of airfield lighting inspection experience (for airfield assignments) Strong knowledge of electrical systems installation and code requirements Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of electrical and low‑voltage systems Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong documentation and reporting skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications Ability to coordinate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders Strong communication and teamwork skills Work Conditions & Requirements Onsite position at LAX (not remote) Night shift schedule (approximately 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday night through Friday morning) Must be able to work nights, weekends, and modified schedules as required Must be able to work in active construction environments May require extended hours depending on project needs Salary & Benefits Salary Range: Competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications Schedule: Full-Time (Night Shift) Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, and professional development opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr
