Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, Foley insertion/management), and PCA pumps. Medication gtt management to include cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IVF.

Special Requests: RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Unit Details: Med/Tele overflow area supporting all inpatient units and ED holding; diagnoses include CHF, COPD, chest pain workup, stroke s/s, respiratory issues, and other inpatient overflow presentations; testing is prioritized. Patient ratios: RN 1:5-6 (critical surge 1:7-8); CNA 1:6-12. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitors. No telemetry monitoring tech support.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: Float to all units within scope at Mercy and to Region 2 facilities as needed, within scope of practice: Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main + CMC Mercy + Levine Children’s Hospital).

6 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
