Class A HazMat Truck Driver

Position Description Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Houston, TX — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. Pay, Schedule, and Training $1,600 weekly average or more; Sign‑On Bonus: $2,000, $1/2 after 30 days, $1/2 after 90 days. Schedule: Tuesday — Saturday with 2 consecutive days off each week; 1‑2 layovers per week. Start Time: 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM Dispatch. Paid training. Truck and Route Requirements Route: SOLO To: TX, LA, MS, AR, OK. Tractor type: Day Cab and Sleeper; must be able to drive a manual. Trailer type: 48’ – 53’ Dry Van with Lift Gate. Equipment: Electric Pallet Jack and Lift Gate. Freight: Touch – Automotive Parts. Endorsements: Hazmat – to be obtained at interview; must have 9‑12 months Hazmat experience. Must have 12 months of CDL A experience driving. Route delivery experience required. Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days. 80 hours paid time off in the first year; use it or get paid for it. Uniforms & boot allowance provided. Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years. Pass a DOT physical. Pass a Ryder road test. Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position. Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years. Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions. Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines. Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs. Load/Unload freight or assist in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
