Details Work in the Adult Admission Inpatient Unit (ER Holding), a fast-paced admission unit adjacent to the Emergency Department Care for admitted patients transitioning to inpatient status, with turn-and-burn patient flow until placement on progressive care units 17 beds plus up to 8 hall beds, serving a diverse patient population across all specialties except ICU level Patient ratio of 1 RN to 4-5 patients Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM 36 or 48-hour weekly contracted schedule available Float required to the ED for admitted patients, ICU for sub-acute care assignments, and any inpatient PCU area No on-call requirements Relief charge duties may be required as needed Uses Cerner charting system Requirements Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required RQI certifications not accepted Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Telemetry monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias experience required Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) required IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required, including starting and maintaining IVs Prior ER travel experience required Prior charge experience preferred Level I Trauma experience preferred Pending license accepted Non-local candidates must have a non-local driver's license on file Additional Information Work at a Level I Trauma, teaching, and acute care hospital with 554 staffed beds Provide inpatient standard of care to admitted ED patients while awaiting placement on progressive care units Strong time management and ability to manage a variety of medical equipment required Relief charge responsibilities may be required as needed Block scheduling will be considered No locals accepted within 100 miles of the facility COVID vaccination required, with religious and medical exemptions accepted via signed exemption form No holiday RTO for December starts Must work 2 of the 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve/Day RTO requests greater than 7 days require approval Facility may call off shifts up to 3 times during the 13-week assignment A 6-month break is required after 1 year or 4 consecutive assignments, whichever comes first Former staff must have a 12-month separation before returning Black scrubs required American Traveler Job ID P-772728.
