Baker

Bakery Position

Prepares and bakes high-volume bakery products according to Costco formulas. Provides a high level of member service.

Job duties include:

• Using and monitoring proof-box, setting of temperature, humidity, and timers.
• Using and monitoring gas fired rack ovens, setting temperature and timers.
• Using oven mitts to remove baked rack of product for cooling.
• Referring to and following production sheets for order of production.
• Using formula book, scaling and yield sheets, production bench manual, proof box sheet, oven time and temperature sheet.
• Scaling and combining ingredients using power equipment to prepare various types of baked goods.
• Rolling, cutting, and shaping products.
• Setting up pre-formed products.
• Using production thermometers, dough divider, scales, knives, spatulas, safety ladder, and scissors when preparing various scratch and frozen items.
• Producing, dating, and storing ingredients and products for next day use.
• Assisting with other bakery duties as needed.
• Providing prompt and courteous member service.
• Following SSOP guidelines as they refer to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position.
• Completing and complying with 11 commandments of quality assurance, food safety certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and department.
• Ensuring proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
• Assisting with department duties as necessary.
• Assisting in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
