Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Body Technician to join an established collision repair team in Reading, PA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience repairing collision-damaged vehicles, performing body and structural repairs, replacing panels, and preparing vehicle surfaces for refinishing.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, follows established repair procedures, and works effectively with a team to restore vehicles to safe, reliable, and visually appealing condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect collision-damaged vehicles and assess the necessary body and structural repairs.
• Perform automotive body repairs, including dent removal, panel repair, and panel replacement.
• Complete structural and frame-related repairs as required.
• Remove, repair, and replace damaged body components and related parts.
• Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, filling, and priming as needed.
• Coordinate with paint and refinishing technicians to support high-quality finished repairs.
• Use automotive body repair tools, shop equipment, and collision repair materials safely and effectively.
• Follow repair estimates, technical instructions, and applicable manufacturer repair procedures.
• Document completed work and communicate repair progress or additional concerns to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet repair schedules and quality expectations.
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Automotive Body Technician, Auto Body Repair Technician, or Collision Repair Technician.
• Strong hands-on skills in collision repair, dent repair, and panel replacement.
• Experience with structural body repairs and frame-related work is preferred.
• Familiarity with automotive paint preparation, surface finishing, and refinishing processes.
• Knowledge of common body shop tools, equipment, and collision repair materials.
• Ability to read and follow repair estimates, technical instructions, and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced repair environment.
• Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant technical training or industry certifications, such as I-CAR or ASE, are preferred.
