Mechanical Assembly TechnicianColumbia Vehicle Group is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembly Technicians to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will assemble vehicle components and systems according to specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in hands-on work and contributing to the production of reliable, high-quality vehicles.Key Responsibilities:Assemble electric vehicle components by placing parts in a specified sequence using bolts, clips, screws, staples, and glues/cementsUse air-powered and battery-powered tools to complete assemblies according to work instructionsRotate to different workstations as production needs requireRemain flexible with work assignments, as different vehicle models require varying assembly operationsRead, understand, and follow written work instructionsNavigate computer systems to:Access and review work instructionsCross-reference part numbersCheck inventory levelsReference production tablesConstantly lift and/or move up to 10 poundsFrequently lift and/or move up to 40 poundsStand for up to 10 hours per dayQualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredValid driver's license requiredMechanical aptitude with the ability to perform hands-on assembly workComfortable using air-powered and battery-powered hand toolsBasic computer skills with the ability to navigate systems to access work instructions, part numbers, inventory, and production dataAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentWillingness to rotate between workstations and adapt to changing production needsAbility to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours per day)Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds consistentlyStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safetyPreferred Skills:Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environmentsMechanical assembly experience in automotive, electric vehicle, or equipment manufacturingElectrical wiring, harness installation, or component assembly experienceExperience using air-powered and battery-powered hand toolsAbility to read basic diagrams, schematics, or assembly drawingsFamiliarity with quality inspection standards and proceduresStrong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a production environmentDependable work ethic and commitment to meeting production goalsWhat We Offer:Competitive hourly payFull-time, steady work with a consistent scheduleComprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and paid holidaysOn-the-job training and skill development opportunitiesSafe, clean, and team-oriented work environmentOpportunities for career growth and advancementEmployment with a stable, family-owned organization committed to long-term successAiken, SC Onsite Full Time $18.00 per hour
