Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse license in hand Minimum 2 years of telemetry, cardiac, med-surg, or stepdown nursing experience Experience caring for patients with cardiac and progressive-care needs Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications Epic charting experience required Ability to work nights, every other weekend, and one assigned holiday if needed Strong rhythm interpretation skills and comfort working in a fast-paced telemetry unit Experience with chest tubes, drips, high-flow oxygen, and ventilated patients is a plus Must meet all facility compliance requirements prior to start Responsibilities Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to telemetry and stepdown patients Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition Care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, atrial fibrillation with RVR, sepsis, renal failure, and chest pain rule-out MI Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, cardiac monitoring, and post-procedure care Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary team members Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic Assist with chest tube care, cardioversion support, and other unit-specific procedures as assigned Maintain a calm, professional approach in a high-turnover, fast-paced healthcare environment Why This Travel Nursing Opportunity Competitive pay for an in-demand RN telemetry travel job Supportive clinical team in a welcoming Southern Illinois hospital Opportunity to strengthen cardiac, telemetry, and stepdown nursing skills Ideal for experienced Registered Nurses seeking travel nursing jobs in Illinois Apply now to join this Centralia, IL telemetry team and take the next step in your travel nursing career.
