Operating Room Nurse (RN)The Operating Room (OR) Nurse plays a crucial role in caring for a diverse patient population. The specialties include orthopedic, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, gynecology, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma, within a level 1 trauma center environment. The facility is equipped with advanced surgical technology, including two Da Vinci robots utilized across multiple services. Additionally, the program includes organ transplants for liver, kidney, and heart patients.Job DutiesProvide comprehensive nursing care in the operating room across various surgical specialties.Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures as required.Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in condition during procedures.Job RequirementsValid RN License in New York State.Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an operating room setting, specifically in a level 1 trauma center.Ability to scrub and circulate in surgeries.Telemetry experience is highly desired.CertificationsBLS Certification from the American Heart Association is required.ACLS Certification is preferred.Preferred Surgical ExperienceExperience in specialty cases such as transplants, plastics, and reconstructive surgeries.Experience performing craniotomies.Strong background in orthopedic surgeries.Behavioral CharacteristicsSeeking candidates with a strong commitment to patient care and teamwork, who demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.
